I recently received this note

I recently received this note from a student. It shows a commitment and readiness to change. I thought you all would be inspired to read it.

“A seed is planted in a very welcoming and fertile environment-soil. As the seed begins nurtures itself with these qualities it begins to feel safe enough to break through it’s shell and root itself in the environment. When the roots taste the water that comes from above it becomes curious of what exists above. As water continues to tempt its coming out the roots begin to shoot upward rather than outward and soon it pokes it’s head into the blue sky and finds that it can sense beauty around it. Growing more curious the little being begins to open so that it may see the beauty that it senses. Once it opens up and sees the beauty it becomes a part of the beauty by adding itself to the environment.

“I’ve lived with my roots and I’ve tasted the water the water that cones from above, now I want to shoot upward and take my place in that environment by adding my own distinctness to the environment. I humbly ask, help me find my voice.”
